Isla Maclachlan - Interact Speech Pathology

Isla Maclachlan

Speech Pathologist

Hi, I’m Isla Maclachlan — a passionate speech pathologist
dedicated to helping children and adolescents build strong communication skills
for life.

Whether it’s supporting a toddler’s early speech
development, guiding school-aged children through language and literacy
challenges, or empowering teens with neuro-affirming social communication
strategies, I offer personalised therapy tailored to each individual’s needs.
My goal is to help young people thrive both socially and academically.

My qualifications include:
  • Certified in the Hanen It Takes Two to Talk program — a family-focused model for early language intervention
  • Trained in the We Thinkers! social thinking curriculum for early learners
  • Experienced in delivering Social Thinking programs including How to Be a Social Detective and the Superflex curriculum
  • Certified in Sounds-Write, a structured phonics-based literacy program

I also have an interest in developing and running small-group social communication programs designed to help children and teens build confidence, navigate peer interactions, and strengthen their social-emotional skills in a supportive, structured setting. These groups offer a safe space to practice real-life communication scenarios, make connections, and grow together.

I believe that effective communication is the foundation for confidence, connection, and success. I strive to create a warm, engaging environment where every client feels supported and empowered to reach their full potential.

Outside of work, I enjoy quiet moments with my cat, Trixie,
and love getting creative with crochet.

Let’s work together to make meaningful strides in communication.
